A Fine Rain Falls in Skidmore, 1914

A glorious rain, as reported in the June 18, 1914 edition of the Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 8:

A Fine Rain Thursday

A fine and much needed rain visited this part of the country Thursday.  It was one of those refreshing gentle showers that makes everyone happy and all vegetation seems to take on new life.

A little west and north of town it must have rained from one and one-half to two inches, while in Skidmore probably not over three fourths of an inch of water fell,, but still it was a glorious rain and the dust which nearly choked us all and kept the houses dirty and foggy has now settled and everything looks fresh and prosperous.
