From the June 9, 1921 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:
Lost Another Game.
The Skidmore base ball club lost to Graham Sunday afternoon on the local diamond by the score of 1-0.The boys do not feel badly over the outcome of Sunday’s game, however, as it was an unusually good game. Someone has said that it was as good a game as was ever played in Skidmore; and whether that statement is true or not, all who saw it agreed that it was a “dandy good” game.
The local team has the right attitude toward the game. They play to win, but if they must lose they know how to do it gamely. This is the spirit of true sportsmanship, and the team that has the reputation of being game losers never fails to win the support of the community.
The boys will go to New Point next Sunday.
